Valentine's Day

We hope you had a happy Valentine's Day! Ours started great with some beautiful roses and a card from Dusty and the kids and turned out not quite as planned. I spent a few weeks getting some small gifts for everyone and planning this nice meal with a fancy dessert and couple things went wrong. 1. Several of us have been on the brink of death...okay not death, but somewhere close for weeks. We still have not been diagnosed...pertussis, bronchitis, etc...so I scheduled a Dr.'s appt. and we spent a couple HOURS there getting checked out yesterday. That meant that instead of Dusty walking in to a clean house with a romantic atmosphere he met me at the Dr. and watched the kids. Then he came home and helped me finish cooking dinner and we ate it amid the mess and clutter. I didn't even have the energy to light the candles that I had already set out on the counter. 2. I had to scratch the fancy dinner and amazing dessert (via pinterest) that we were going to try because we started an at home Biggest Loser competition. It was Dusty's brilliant idea to start that the day before Valentine's day :) so we did a casserole from cooking light, cowboy salsa, and pudding with fresh bananas for dessert... so...although I'm whining a bit we had a nice time together and I realized that the ToGEthER part was the most important. I love Valentine's Day and was so thankful to have 3 sweethearts to share it with this year. (sidenote...Paisley says Dusty can't be my sweetheart because he is a boy.  hmmm)

Looks like a fun night, Meagan, so good to see all of you, we miss you. Talking on the phone is just not the same as being there, lucky ducks who do live close by. Wow, we miss you all . . . Whitten melts my heart with that smile and Paisley is so grown up now, she is truly a little companion. Love you to pieces sweetheart, I am your mama and you are still my sweetheart, please tell Paisley that. Much love!

The decorations look great regardless! And good for you on the biggest loser competition! Kevin's about to start one with his family, and I can't participate this time because I'm pregnant, but being the house chef, I'm sure going to need to be more careful!
